FIND OUT MORE ABOUT LAURA SMITH -THE FOUNDER
Following a successful 8-year career in the Metropolitan Police Service I then worked in Anti-Social Behaviour and faced many challenging situations and people. This helped me to decide that I wanted a complete change in my life and Smith’s Tails was born. I wanted a career that didn’t feel like work where I could spend time with my favourite things ever – animals! I absolutely knew that spending time with paw friends would make me happy. Looking back over the last year of running Smith’s Tails I can certainly admit that it’s definitely done that.
I’ve always loved animals and growing up had the pleasure of spending time and making memories with many perfect paws, all who have a special place in my heart. My own beautiful babies are two handsome cats called Howie and Toby, who have already brought us six years of happiness. Howie is my real-life tiger (Bengal) and Toby is our tiny little one who loves cuddles!
A little bit about my business so far…
I am enjoying growing my business and have done so from the first day when I started Smith’s Tails and our Dog Walking and Pet Sitting Services. I love meeting a new paw client every time and making new friends.
It’s so special to receive the greetings that my dogs and cats give me each time they see me and I know from the owners feedback, they can very clearly see the bond we have! They are all now my family and we share a lot of love and fun together!
I’m super proud of Smith’s Tails and our first successful year. I hope to continue to make this business grow and have the biggest animal family ever!
When I’m not working…
I enjoy spending time with the people I love most (my Family). I have many passions but most of all I love travelling and have been lucky enough to go on many wonderful European city breaks and relaxing beach holidays.
It is very difficult to compare which one I love the most, but I would have to say that my favourite city to visit is Wroclaw, Poland. From great food and drink, to beautiful medieval churches this city offers a great cultural experience. My favourite hot holiday would have to be Mexico, where I enjoyed my wonderful honeymoon.
I believe that life is very short and making memories are more important than anything money can buy. Taking the jump to setting up my own business has allowed me to pursue one of my greatest passions.
