Terms and Conditions – Smith’s Tails

 

By using my services you are agreeing to my terms and conditions. I reserve the right to amend these at anytime. I would advise you to monitor my website for any changes in my services and updates.

Initial Consultation: I offer a free home visit to discuss your requirements and my services at a time to suit you.

Payments: I accept Cash or Bank Transfer. I will invoice weekly or after my services are completed and will allow up to 3 days to receive payment. If payment is expected to be delayed please let me know ASAP. If I do not receive payment within this period then services will no longer be provided and payment will be requested in advance of further services.

Charges: I reserve the right to change my rates but I will always give 14 days notice of this.

Bookings: I am happy to accept last minute bookings and will accommodate where possible. I would always ask for one week’s notice of any changes to regular bookings or changes to the services you require. If you require a regular service, this will be on a ‘first come first served’ basis. Please note I operate on a time slot basis to allow for flexibility (as animals are unpredictable). Your time slot will be confirmed with you in advance.

Collection & Drop off: Due to the unpredictable nature of animals and the flexibility required with the services I am offering, Dog walking services will be operated on a slot basis, Slots will be available for AM/Lunchtime and PM. If your dog is part of a group walk they will be in my care for longer than a one hour period due to collection and drop off of multiple dogs. If you need your dog back at a particular time I may not be able to offer a group walk to your dog.

Cancellations: If you need to make amendments or cancel your booking I ask that you inform me as soon as possible. If you are a regular client with repeated service agreed I require one weeks’ cancellation notice in line with the above. If you are an Ad-Hoc client I require 48 hours cancellation notice. Failure to provide the required notice will result in full charges for all services booked.  In the unlikely event that I am unable to carry out my services I will provide as much notice as possible and charges will be waived.

Bank Holiday/Weekend charges: Both are charged at double rate.

Photos/Social Media: I may on occasions upload your pet’s picture onto my social media site or my pet gallery on my website. If you do not agree to this then please tick the box on the client registration form to opt out.

Veterinary Release Form: I require all customers to agree or disagree to this service. In the unlikely event of your pet becoming ill or injured in my care I will endeavour to take them to the vet named on your client registration form, however in the case of an emergency your pet will be taken to the nearest vet. If you agree to this service you will be signing to agree to pay the full vet bill of your pet. It would also be beneficial, for me, to be aware of any pet insurance you may have in place.

Pet Behaviour: I understand that every animal has different personalities and traits. It is the responsibility of the owner to advise me of any aggression or behavioural problems that your animal has shown or is likely to show in my care. If I have witnessed any concerns in relation to your pet’s behaviour I have the right to cancel your booking(s). If your pet causes injury to any other animal or human whilst in the care of Smith’s Tails, Smith’s Tails will not be held responsible for this and any further incurred charges.

Dogs that have not been fully trained in recall will not be walked off lead for safety reasons and may not be suitable for group walking.

Microchipping: You are required by law to have your pet microchipped and all relevant information should be up to date. If your pet is not microchipped then I will not be able to provide any services to your pet.

Insurance: I am fully insured to provide services to you and your pet. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure that the correct pet insurance is in place with your pet. Smith’s Tails will not be responsible for any injury, loss or damage to your pet whilst in my care.

Keys: If the owner agrees for me to take responsibility of their keys they will be kept in a secure place and only accessible to Smith’s Tail’s staff. I am fully insured to be a key holder. In the unlikely event that a key is misplaced or lost, I will inform the owners at the earliest opportunity. Please note your details will not be attached to your keys. If you require your keys to be returned, please give 24 hours notice, as this will require a hand delivered service or collection.

Emergency: In the event of an emergency I will make contact with the owner. If the owner is not available I will make contact with the second contact named on your application form. If I am unable to make contact with the owner and your pet requires urgent veterinary treatment, I will not take responsibility for any bills incurred. Every effort will be made to take your pet to the vet of your choice, however if this is not possible I will take them to the nearest vet.

In Season: Unfortunately I am not able to provide group dog walking services to bitches who are in season. I maybe able to accommodate solo walks but this will need to be discussed.

Weather conditions: In the event of bad weather such as snow, ice or very hot days, my services maybe limited. I will contact you as early as possible regarding any changes that need to be made. During periods of high temperatures I have the right to take precautions to protect the animals. Dog walking services maybe subject to location changes or cancellations in these conditions.
